Our busy thinking mind likes to take control of all the jobs, and we allow it out of habit. We do need to plan, use logic and think, yet we really are habituated thinkers that often overuse the mind (conditioning from our mainstream education.) It gets used to making decisions about the past, present and future, to analyse all number of things to the point of rumination, as well as to worry about what might happen and create fear stories based on the past. This can all lead to feelings of confusion and even depression (which I see as an over-thinking issue)
Rollin McCraty Ph.D., one of the original founders of Heartmath, said, “The biggest hidden source of stress on the planet is the disorganization of heart/mind, causing lack of resonance. Lack of alignment eats the life force and happiness out of humanity.”
All of this thought activity is draining and often exhausting. Most importantly it has us disconnected from our heart intelligence.
Here’s what happens when you are disconnected from your heart:
When we are connected to the heart we are in touch with our authentic self. From this place we can easily make decisions and choices intuitively. We know how to move forward without confusion. We can access the wisdom of our body and respond to it’s needs. We are more present and grounded. Our system is calmer. We feel happier and have greater peace. This is all the good stuff!
Let’s take a few minutes to get heart connected now.
Ahh, that’s better isn’t it? It certainly is for me. I feel ease and a sense of slowing down. May we all have a greater connection to the intelligence of our heart. As more of us do this greater peace ripples all over this beautiful planet we reside on.
Wishing you heart connection.

You know you’re a multidimensional being but I just wanted to bring it the foreground. What this means is that you have interconnected bodies that vibrate at different frequencies and coexist within your energy field or aura.
There is your physical self, which is obvious, although we are not as connected to this body as we like to think – a topic for another time. We also have an emotional body, a mental body and varying layers of spiritual bodies.
I have found it helpful to check in with all of these ‘bodies’ – to get a ‘Personal Weather Report’ as my yoga teacher calls it. It’s a simple and important practice that I personally find fascinating.
Our busy mind can have us detached from what is happening with our body, emotions and spirit. When we ignore these levels of our being we are ignoring our Self. It can also mean dis-ease is going unnoticed until it is loud.
See what you notice as you try this now –
Take your breath and awareness to your physical body.
Notice how your body is feeling.
Now take your breath and awareness to your emotional body.
How are you feeling emotionally?
This is a little more elusive yet with focus and practise you will get to know your emotions.
Now take your attention to the quality of your thinking – to your mental body.
You might also like to breathe your focus to your spiritual self. What do you notice on that more refined level?
You are checking in with your whole self, in this moment. When you are aware of this information you can make choices to accommodate what you have discovered, or to simply be aware of how you are, holistically, in this moment.
Maybe your body feels tired and needs rest, or maybe it feels out of alignment and needs some postural adjustments. It might feel vibrant and want movement.
Emotionally you might discover anger, peace, guilt or something else. You might choose to explore that more and care for yourself appropriately.
Mentally you may notice that you’re obsessing on one theme, lingering in the past or jumping to the future. It’s all helpful information to know yourself better and be accepting of who you are, right now.
Wishing you multidimensional wellness!

I recently had a virus get me. "Get me" -- that's funny but it IS an invasion. Creepy little virus energy sneaking around in my body. I believe they attack us when our boundaries are weak, which mine had been. Too much letting others stuff get to me.
Being unwell stopped my 'shoulds' from taking over which was a good thing and a challenging thing. I danced between overthinking and loving self-care. Now that I'm dressed and working again I want to ponder on who I am now that I'm 5 months into 2019. Am I in alignment with my Higher Self?
You may want to contemplate these things too. It's easy to do what we've always done. We are such habitual creatures. We often forget that we are changing and growing. In fact, we are a new person every single day.
What 'shoulds' are you up to?
Do they actually align with who you are now?
Who are you now that we are 5 months into 2019?
What is new about who you are?
What is still hanging around you getting in the way?
For me – some boundary issues to sort. My inner child gets triggered and if I'm not mindful I can forget I even have a Higher Self.
How about a check-list for you to see if you are in alignment with your own Higher Self?
Is this you:
Feeling tired or drained.
Blaming or judging (It's an unhealthy way of getting power)
You're stuck in habits that don't serve you.
You're over analysing.
You're pushing yourself to do more.
You're feeling frustrated.
Or are you more in this vibe:
You feel on purpose.
You're able to hear your intuition.
You feel happy and sometimes even joyful.
You have a sense of being grounded in your body.
You enjoy what you're doing.
There is ease and flow.
You are not attached to outcomes.
You feel appreciation.
If you're wanting to come into greater alignment with your Higher Self the first thing you need to do is connect to your body. It's from this grounded place that we know what our needs are. It's hard to tune in to self-care stuff like rest, food, sleep, water, how much space we need etc. when we're disconnected from our body. Too much doing and too much thinking will unground you.
It's from a body centred place that we're able to hear our inner knowing. When we're over-thinking there's no room for the quiet voice of intuition. This wise inner counsel will guide you to your next steps.
Are you sad to discover you've been out of alignment for too long? Recovery catch up is needed, some chill time where your mind is free to relax. Play, rest, nature, movement and care will help you realign to yourself. I had a beautiful healing walk on our local beach yesterday. Still water, spacious vibe, sand and sea, dogs playing. Ahhh, coming down into my body. Happiness returning.
Flow and ease comes when we're connected to our Self. Look out for signs of being out of alignment and kindly and gently come back to yourself.
wishing you self-connection
